Applebee’s 3rd Annual Burgers for Babies Promotion

By: Emily McNair, Business Analyst

This past Tuesday, February 21, was the first of four Burgers for Babies days in 2012.  2012 marks Applebee’s third consecutive year of running this promotion to help raise money for the Annual Z99 Radiothon. This year is the 25th year of the Z99 Radiothon which is being held on March 15 and 16.

The Applebee’s Burgers for Babies combo includes any Applebee’s RealBurger, a side of fries and a drink (12oz beer, pop, water, coffee or tea) for only $15. And $5 from every combo sold goes directly to the Z99 Radiothon!  In 2010, Applebee’s raised just over $2,800 for the cause, and last year they raised just over $3,000.  This year, they are aiming toward raising more than $3,500 – and they need your help!

From Business Idea to Operating Enterprise takes three things…

By: Doug McNair, President and Business Strategist

I appreciate our firm’s association with the Hill Business School at the University of Regina.  I spoke recently about starting a small business to a group of students who will be graduating this spring.

My first comment was that it’s ok to dream big, you can start a small business, but why not think about starting a large business.  Also, an entrepreneur is probably not going to start a business, but over time will likely start many.  That’s because not every business will be a success, or as successful as you would like it to be.  But each time you will learn more about what it takes to be successful.

Joining the McNair Team

By Scott Langen, Director of Operations

Having recently joined McNair Business Development, I’ve noticed two types of responses to this decision.  The first (from those that know me best) was excitement and congratulations.  The second was confusion and doubt as to why I would risk leaving my executive position with Government.

Good is no longer good enough, you have to be great.

By: Doug McNair, President and Business Strategist

For any business to be very successful and not just “get by,” particularly in a very competitive market, being good is no longer good enough, you have to be great.
